Sun Woo-Kim born in 1997, is a Korean glass sculptor whose work explores the themes of memory, healing, and transformation through the interplay of organic form and material innovation. He graduated from Department of Ceramic & Glass, Hongik University Graduate School in 2024. Integrating traditional glass techniques with 3D printing and mixed media, Kim creates sculptural works that embody both technical precision and emotional depth.

Deeply influenced by a difficult childhood, Kim draws upon personal memories as the foundation of his artistic practice. In particular, the warmth and comfort he found in repurposed childhood items—such as handmade stuffed dolls sewn from his newborn clothes—continue to inspire the tender, nostalgic quality of his work. These intimate recollections manifest in his art as layered expressions of love, vulnerability, and resilience, often transformed into playful scenes such as teddy bears balancing on rubber balls.

His debut solo exhibition, Metamorphosis, introduced a series of glass works inspired by the evolutionary forms of life preserved in amber. In 2024, he was invited to exhibit at Art Logic Space, where the extended run of the show reflected growing public interest in his emotionally resonant and technically refined works.

Kim also brings a background in 3D printing research to his practice, allowing him to push the boundaries of traditional sculpture. Through the transparency, reflection, and refraction of glass, his pieces invite viewers into a world where personal history and material innovation converge—offering a quiet, luminous space for reflection and connection.
